Miss Jean “Jennie” Templeman
Behind the Design — A Canadian Nursing Sister

Some projects are about more than design. They're about preserving a story and honouring a life.
Working with Bob, I was asked to create an 18 × 24-inch commemorative poster honouring Miss Jean “Jennie” Templeman, one of 14 Canadian Nursing Sisters who lost their lives aboard the hospital ship Llandovery Castle in 1918.
The project combined historical research provided by the client, photographic editing, digital artwork, typography, and detailed print production.
Using an original photograph of Templeman at age 18 as a reference, an AI-assisted artistic interpretation was created to depict her at age 33. The portrait was then refined in Adobe Photoshop, with particular attention to the historical details of her nursing uniform.
From rebuilding the brass buttons to correcting uniform details and replacing the flag with a period-appropriate reference, each revision brought the artwork closer to the historical vision Bob wanted to preserve.
The final composition brought together the portrait, historical imagery, and written account in a respectful tribute, prepared as an 18 × 24-inch, four-colour, print-ready poster.
The result: A collaborative project combining modern creative tools, traditional design skills, and careful attention to historical detail.

Cleary Feed & Seed
Behind the Design — A Logo That Evolved
Every logo has a story, and sometimes the best designs come from allowing an idea to evolve.
Working closely with Conor at Cleary Feed & Seed, we began with a traditional badge-style concept. The challenge was incorporating several meaningful elements — a sunflower, wheat, clover, bee, and maple leaf — while keeping the overall design clean and balanced.
As the project developed, so did the logo. What began as a badge evolved into a more flexible design that better reflected the business and its needs.
The entire logo was created in Adobe Illustrator, with each component built separately. This allows the artwork to be resized, rearranged, and adapted for signage, apparel, print, and digital applications without losing quality.
The result: A distinctive, versatile identity built through collaboration, thoughtful design, and an understanding of how the artwork will be used.
